§ Press
The short version, for the writers.
Everything you need to write about Commitmentor — without having to ask.
One sentence
Commitmentor is a self-contract for the moments you usually lose — a browser-based commitment device that intercepts addictive sites with your own reason and a real consequence.
Two paragraphs
Commitmentor is a Chrome / Brave / Edge extension that lets you bind your own behavior. You pick the sites you don’t want to keep opening on autopilot, you write the reason in your own words, and you attach a real cost if you continue. When you reach for the tab in a weak moment, the contract shows up first.
It’s based on three behavioral findings that have held up across decades: Schelling on commitment devices, Kahneman and Tversky on loss aversion, and Loewenstein on the cold-to-hot empathy gap. The product itself is intentionally small — no streak achievements, no notifications, no shame — because the friction is the feature.

Built Commitmentor as the tool I needed before I needed anything else. The first version was a Chrome extension I shipped for myself in a weekend. The pattern that came out of it — a contract in your own handwriting — is the only thing that’s ever worked.
